Yes: let's agree to stop there.

level 2

Not a bad place to stop, IMO the MP4-27 is one of the best looking modern era cars.

The new cars are all very pretty to me. I'm in love with the new Ferrari

level 1

That 2006 Mclaren is a bit deceiving because it had a fair amount of red thanks to Emirates' sponsorship (most of it was on the wings). This photo makes it seem like there was a dramatic switch in liveries between 06 and 07, whereas the MP4-21 was closer to the Vodafone years.

Didn't we just do this? Someone posted this, then someone else posted Ferrari, then someone posted Lola, we all had a good laugh, and that was the end of it?

level 2

New week with no race, same reposts.

level 1

Right before they got shit, and then really shit

level 2

You can make that into vodka and Alonso will drink his tears away.

Can someone explain to me why marlboro went to ferrari and mclaren got west?

97/98/06/07 & 08 look absolutely amazing.

I love the low and sleek design of the 97-98 cars. And then the short wheel base of 07 and 08 looks incredible too.

Newb here - I see references to the MP4-something being the best one in terms of sound every so often. Am I thinking the right thing? Is one of these that car that I can look up more about?

level 2

Maybe not best in sound but the MP4/4 driven by Prost & Senna was the most dominant car in F1 history. It won a greater percentage of races in 88 than Mercedes did last year.

level 1

So we are again doing this evolution of cars thing?

level 1

Anyone have a high res??? This would look great on the wall.

level 1

Why did cars begin to get longer after 1994? I was born in 92 so I missed the 90s for obvious reasons

level 2

Massive change in regulations from 94 to 95 to updated the safety of the cars after the disasterous weekend at Imola in 94. My guess is they frontal impact requirements got more stringent, so the nose needs to be longer. Further tanks would get smaller as teams learn how much fuel they need after they got to grips with fueling back the strategy book. By the time you get to the V8s the engines are tiny and the driver moves further back for weight distribution and better high nose aero(?).

level 2

I believe it's done to accommodate a bigger fuel tank.
